It does seem to be a popular stamp this one as it keeps popping up when sorting cards out. The actual stamp is no longer available as its from 2006, but a similar is from the Stamp Man - agapanthus cluster.

Bead - tastic

This beaded card was one for a workshop - the idea was great but the timescale wasn't as it took hours and alot of beads. So a scaled down version was actually made in the workshop and this was the "inspiration" piece.

Let's Make Cards Issue 48 Quilling

This months issue of Lets Make Cards is a quilling special, and I made several cards with the kit one of which is pictured here. The patterned paper in the kit is used to make spiral roses and matching leaves for a pretty card. The papers are just the right weight for these flowers.

Flowersoft bouquet

A card not made by me this time, but as its a favourite I think I will bend my own rules. Annalies used the flowersoft product to make the fluffy stems. By coating floristry wire with flowersoft and bending the stems an unusual textural card is made. This usually sits on my shelves in the craft room but I decided it needed a larger audience.

Box cards are relatively new to me and they create a frame for the image or allow the 3d element to be protected. This is a card created for Let's Make Cards! magazine using a rubber stamp designed by Sharon Bennett.

Cup cakes

First box opened up and a cup cake card is one of the first to be photographed. It uses fusible fibres for the cup cake itself and real sprinkles inside a shaker box bottom left. This was originally for a magazine article and then was used for a workshop.

In with the old

A start to 2012 with a card from the year 2000. It is one of my very early quilled cards and tiny at 11.5cm x 9cm (4.5in x 3.5in) ! The flowers are extremely small but use 3mm wide papers as that was all I generally used then.

I refer back to these early cards occasionally as the lack of ribbons, gem stones and fussy embellishments makes the quilling stand out.

From 1st January 2012 my blog will move from my website www.elizabethmoad.com to here. The aim of this blog is to show on a regular basis some of the cards that I have made over the past 12 years, and whilst I haven't kept all of them, I have held on to quite a few. These are cards that were made for magazine articles, books, workshops and demonstrations that I have kept as reference and future use. The cards use all sorts of techniques (not just quilling) and range from good, bad and ugly.

The photo below is of the storage boxes full of my cards, tags and decorated items. It was as I nearly bought yet another storage box to hold the latest cards (seen here on top of the the boxes) that I really did think I should do something about the issue.

The lack of any more storage space and the prospect of keeping these for the next 12 years, has prompted me to do something about the situation. So far I have brought all the boxes downstairs and photographed the enormity of the pile. I have then taken the first card out, which happens to be quilled, and photographed that. Then, after some careful thought, I left the task for the day.
